Erik's Warning: Why We NEVER Shoot Concrete Over Mud

"Some builders cut costs by shooting shotcrete straight onto mud without using spacer blocks (dobies) to lift the steel grid. Over time, that steel sinks into the wet dirt, rusts, expands, and splits the concrete floor. We use steel spacer blocks on every single build to ensure a full 3-inch concrete barrier protects our steel frame."
